Introduction

The society was founded to promote, sustain and encourage the ethos of rural village life in the parish of Brinkworth with Grittenham, either independently or in conjunction with other organisations representing Brinkworth community interests. The raising of funds for deserving village projects and organising events for the benefit of residents are the two main objects of the the society.

The provision of a calendar of events and the co-ordination of these is another service provided by the Brinkworth Heritage Society on this Web Site which also acts as a notice board and a place where new residents and visitors to the site can find out the contact persons for the various clubs and other societies in the village.

Stop Press:

This year the Brinkworth Country Show made nearly £5,000, more than double the profit of last year. Although the Horse Show made a small loss this will be covered by the Heritage Society to preserve the funds of the original Horse Show.

The next event is the annual 'Bonfire and Fireworks Display' to be held on the Village Recreation Field at 6.30 pm on Wednesday 5th November 2003. Entrance the same as last year, Adults £2.50, Children and Senior Citizens £1.50. Hot and cold drinks, hot and cold snacks will be available so come along and have a great time.
